Land Management Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine
Land Management Institute of National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine is a state research institution which purpose is to ensure the formation of a new strategy for the development of land relations and the models and mechanisms of rational land use and land protection, the involvement of land resources in economic circulation and their capitalization. Among the important tasks of the Institute are the development of technologies for the formation of digital spatial, statistical and administrative data and the transition to a digital model of the economy. In order to successfully achieve these goals, the Institute carries out a full range of research, design, survey, land evaluation and topographical and geodetic activities using all modern technologies. There are the Academic Council and two research departments in the Land Management Institute of National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine.
Role in LandShift
LMI is involved in the Tasks of all Work Packages. We are working together with Kyiv Regional Council to identify Kyiv Region Living Space issues, to involve different stakeholders, to find nature-based solutions suitable for the LS and to implement them. Our scientists will work as experts in spatial economy and econometric assessment of nature-based solutions (NBS). LMI will contribute to assessment of NBS’ technical compatibility, cost-benefit and effectiveness risk considerations and socio-cultural suitability. We are also responsible for GHG emissions measurements and soil samples collection in Kyiv Region LS. LMI also assists other consortium partners in respective tasks, namely data collection, creation of satellite images analysis methods and so on.
