OPenIG

The 1901 law association OPenIG (Occitanie Pyrénées en Intelligence Géomatique) is the result of the expansion to the whole of Occitanie , in 2017, of the SIG LR association (Geographic Information Systems in Languedoc Roussillon) created in 1994. In France, only two regions (Occitanie & Provence-Alpes Côte d’Azur) have chosen the associative model for the regional geographic information platform .

OPenIG’s actions include both data publication and sharing missions (via our Open Geographic Data Infrastructure, IDGO), web service offerings ,   technical/IT development, expertise , facilitation (notably through the creation and facilitation of working groups), support , promotion, etc.

 At the end of 2024, the association brings together 198 members , ranging from regional to municipal level and bringing together public and private organizations.
